Job Summary And Qualifications
POSITION SUMMARY: Registered nurse demonstrates independence in planning, organizing, administering, and evaluating patient care in accordance with the NH Nurse Practice Act, recognized nursing techniques, clinical and administrative policies.
SPECIFIC ELEMENTS & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment and leadership in planning, directing, and the provision of nursing care to the patients in accordance with the N.H. Nurse Practice Act, recognized nursing techniques, and clinical and administrative policies.
Provide therapeutic and administrative services necessary for the care of the patient, in support of HCA ethical principles and values.
Maintains patient confidentiality, privacy, and functions to meet patient's right to be informed.
Demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgement and leadership in planning for the care of the patient
Demonstrate knowledge of normal anatomy and physiology of the adult patient population as well as age adjusted and culturally appropriate care.
Provide safe medication administration for the adult patient population.
Assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting all aspects of patient care. Set priorities and modifies patient care in response to changing conditions by utilizing problem solving skills and exhibiting good judgment.
Delegate appropriate tasks to unlicensed personnel and provides required supervision as needed.
Collaborate with all health care providers and interdisciplinary team serving as the primary coordinator to facilitate and coordinate efficient, effective, and quality healthcare. Communicate patient progress towards the outcome attainment and assist providers and team during treatment/examination of patient and process orders.
Makes appropriate and timely notification to providers on patient condition changes and carries out provider orders.
Monitors, records, and communicates effectively patient condition as appropriate, utilizing computerized documentation systems to maintain therapeutic relationships with patients, families, and physicians.
Assesses and coordinates patient’s discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. Instructs and educates patients and families providing age and culturally appropriate care.
Functions as an effective team member and/or charge RN when needed, orients and mentors new staff members
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Maintains competencies in clinical areas and is responsible for professional growth and development.
It is expected that the RN will attend Unit Meetings as directed by the Nurse Manager/Director and participate in continuing education programs and quality assurance programs to maintain competence and gain additional skills and knowledge.
Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency in the care of patient with a focus on cardiovascular diagnoses and procedures including but not limited to- pre and post cardiac caths, pacemakers, TEEs/Cardioversions, open heart surgery, ablations, TAVRs, groin management, strokes/TIAs, traumas, sepsis, COPD, CHF, AFib exacerbations, detox and drug abuse, and general med/surg telemetry overflow and IV maintenance.
Performs all other duties as assigned.

What qualifications you will need:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- (RN) Registered Nurse state of New Hampshire or valid compact licensure
- Associate Degree in Nursing
